ScriptShine was founded in 2017 by screenwriter Shannon Mier. Shannon has over three and a half years of experience as a professional script editor and proofreader.
Shannon's comedy feature Overnight Visit made the Top 50 of the Nicholl Fellowship Competition, as well as the Top 25 in Tracking Board's Launchpad Contest. The script was optioned by 8th Day Pictures (At Middleton), and now has talent attached. Shannon's script #1 Famolay was optioned and is currently in development with an independent producer. He was also recently hired to write a comedy feature for a different producer. |
Shannon's comedy Finding Fletcher's Fingers made the Quarterfinals in the Nicholl Competition and Top 25 in the Launchpad Contest. Shannon also recently wrote a script for Mason Novick (Juno, 500 Days of Summer) and his company Lost City. He has made the quarterfinals or better of the Nicholl Competition with three different scripts, and has advanced in the Austin Film Festival and Final Draft Big Break contests as well.
Shannon also worked for Kaplan Test Prep as an instructor and tutor for two years, teaching the GRE (basically the SAT for aspiring graduate students). Kaplan hires less than ten percent of people who apply, and applicants must score in the 90th percentile or better on all sections of the test to be considered; Shannon scored in the 98th percentile on the Verbal Reasoning section.
Shannon is a graduate of the University of Virginia. He also holds an Associate's Degree in Digital and Film Arts. He currently lives in Los Angeles.
